Had an issue with desktop yesterday regarding Malwarebytes so decided to uninstall MB using revo uinstaller then run cleaner. Now to the crunch after restarting the pc tried to reinstall MB but failed a. To do so, click Start, then 'Control Panel,' then 'Programs and Features.' Click Malwarebytes from the list of installed programs and click the 'Uninstall' button. If prompted, enter your administrator password and then follow the uninstallation wizard to remove the program.

Are you absolutely sure it's the genuine Malwarebytes? It should keep working in a limited capacity even if you are not thinking of paying for it. And I've never known it refuse to uninstall. Always possible something has corrupted I suppose.
There is a link to a Malwarebytes removal tool on this webpage

Not exactly sure which versions it gets rid of but could be worth a punt. - #4Try running mb_clean.exe as indicated in this official link:

Great minds think alike, or something - #5If you manage to uninstall it, reinstall the free version, taking great care over the options you are given in the install process. It is well worth having.

I installed the latest free version this week, and there is no longer an opt in/out option for the trial of the full version. Oh dear. That doesn't sound like good news.

- #9From what I can see on the Malwarebytes website there isn't really a 'free' version any more. At least not like the previous versions. You basically install the Premium version which runs for 14 days fully functional and if you then don't pay for it it reverts to a basic on demand scanner. They seem to be pushing the paid for version much more than they did previously.

- #11I was able to install the FREE version via www.filepuma.com
- #12I swopped a couple of emails with Malwarebytes support, they sent me a link for mb_clean.exe but it would not open. I sent them another email yesterday morning to explain this and have not had a reply but hey presto Malwarebytes seems to be working again now. No idea why/how.

- #14Best tip I can give for uninstalling is close MBAssistant before uninstalling. Use Geek Uninstaller. Seems to depend on which version of MBAM is installed 3.0.5 was horrid. Also untick the Start With Windows option ASAP if you downgrade to the free licence.
